It’s definitely that time of year again!  Back to school season is upon us, and it’s time to load up backpacks with school supplies, but if you are like me and my girls, you are trying to squeeze every last ounce of fun out of summer!  We managed to squeeze in a summer vacation this year that gave all of us the chance to we needed to reconnect and relax together!

Now that we are back from vacation, we trying to keep some balance in our lives by starting to ease back into back to school.  This means focusing a little bit each day on what we need for back to school, whether it is picking up school supplies a little at a time, or moving bedtimes back by 15 minutes for my youngest.  It’s also time to start thinking about one of the hardest (at least for me) parts of back to school = packing school lunches.  When we are packing lunches, it can be hard to hit the right balance.  I definitely want to make sure that I am packing nutritious lunches that are both sensible and fun!  And my younger daughter is definitely a little foodie, so if it doesn’t taste awesome, she isn’t going to be into it. That’s why I’ve been super excited to find a great whole wheat bread that my girls love from Nature’s Harvest Bread! With 14 whole grains, it’s a bread I can feel good about!

At the same time, I want my girls to have some fun and balance in their lunchbox, so this back to school season we also picked up some Entenmann’s® Little Bites, which make the perfect lunch box companion – just enough of a little yummy snack that add a fun bit of sweetness to my girls’ lunch boxes without overdoing it!

I also like to put a little life in my kiddos lunchbox, so I try to spice up the fun a little bit…It’s fun to try different things…try making this fun Tic Tac Toe Turkey sandwich!  It’s super fun, and EASY..just use olives and matchstick carrots!

With a little creativity, you can make your kids’ super fun, and balanced with the help of Nature’s Harvest Bread and Little Bites Snacks!

And speaking of being the life of the lunchbox, make sure you head over to Life of the Lunchbox™ to check their $10,000 Savings bond sweepstakes!  That could definitely make a dent in college expenses!

We are always trying to think of creative ideas for lunches. I know my son would love all these so I’ll have to try to make some of these for him too.

I am a fan of nature’s harvest. I love that they are small enough to back away so you can either take it with you for breakfast in the morning or take it with you for a snack.

Ohh!! I sure hope we get little bites here in Canada!
I tend to bake a lot during the school year. The kids love taking a muffin with them in their back packs and those would be a time saver for sure.

Summer sure has flown by! I love that you made a Tic Tac Toe Turkey sandwich for your child’s lunch. Who doesn’t love playing tic tac toe, especially with food? I’ll have to remember this one the next time the grandkids are here.
