Have you gotten the word from up North?? Norm is coming, and we are SO excited. If you haven’t heard about Norm of the North yet, Norm is the hero of Lionsgate’s latest movie, and is one big-hearted and talkative polar bear who takes on the adventure of traveling to NYC and taking on big business to save his home from being taken over by developers. It’s a big challenge!
I know that I am super excited to see this movie with my kiddos – Norm’s journey is not unlike our own kids’. Growing up, especially these days – is hard. Trying new things can be scary, and so can failing. I know we work with my youngest daughter especially to try new things, because she is very much afraid of failure. But in the end, when she tries new things, most of the time she loves them. So I’m really looking forward to her checking out Norm’s journey. So while I tried my own culinary journey (more about that in a minute) to celebrate Norm’s arrival, the girls enjoyed the fun things that Lionsgate sent us over to celebrate. Katie loved the activity book…
And her new Norm T-shirt…
And both girls loved their Norm socks…
While the girls were having fun with their Norm swag, I was busy cooking up a fun treat for them to celebrate Norm of the North’s release…these treats are SO easy, and your kids will love them. You start with a pan of marshmallow rice treats, and use a biscuit cutter to cut circles (Norm’s face)..
Using the excess, makes ears, and insert popsicle sticks!
Then, dip your treats into a white chocolate candy melt (check the wedding aisle at your favorite big box store if you can’t find them), and let cool….add eyes, a mouth, ears, and a mouth – I used mini chocolate chips for ears, candy eyes, a big chocolate chip for the nose, and I drew on the mouth with icing.
These sweet treats are SUPER easy, fast, and your kids will love them (at least mine did!)
So we are definitely excited…and so is Norm…check out his Artic Shake…(so cute!)!
And now that you’re really excited, here’s something else fun to shake about! I-C is hosting a contest where you can enter to win one of 5 $100 Fandango gift cards to purchase tickets to see Norm of the North!!! The contest opens on January 4, 2016 and closes on Monday, January 21, 2016, so make sure to enter!
*I-C will randomly select 5 winners from all program entries and will handle fulfillment of the winning prizes.
