“Maya the Bee Movie” Makes Family Movie Night Buzz with Excitement

Our girls had such a great time watching “Maya the Bee Movie” thanks in large part to the wonderful party pack from Studio 100™! Each of the girls sat in her beanbag and held onto their plush – Katie got Maya and Bre got Maya’s friend, Sting.



After the movie we had a great time playing with the Bee Toss Game and Sight Word Bingo – and we all learned something from the study guide and activity book! It was a great family nigh with a Bee-eautiful movie and game collection.


When we have time to watch movies together we often find ourselves camped out in the living room with animated stories, so when “Maya the Bee Movie” showed up on Blu-Ray, we had the popcorn ready to go in no time! This movie is one that the kids will love and it has enough wit about it to keep the adults smiling too. It’s a huge bonus when we can get a movie that we can all enjoy together instead of the kids enjoying while the grown-ups feign interest.


The adventure that Maya undertakes in this movie will delight and amuse the whole family. When the Queen’s jelly is stolen Maya heads up a motley crew of friends and unlikely allies to get the jelly and return it to the Queen Bee. You will enjoy watching the brave bee along with Flip the charismatic and eccentric grasshopper, Kurt the dung beetle, and even Sting, a young hornet.

“Maya the Bee Movie” benefits from the directing talents of Alexs Stadermann (Bambi II) a cast of actors with familiar voices including Academy Award® nominee Jacki Weaver (Animal Kingdom, Silver Linings Playbook), Noah Taylor (Game of Thrones, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory), and Kodi Smith-McPhee (ParaNorman, Rose of the Planet of the Apes). You can bee assured that you aren’t going to bee bored by the quality of the story and film. With such a rich story and characters, viewers will go an exciting journey of self-discovery and adventure as the story unfolds.

“Maya the Bee Movie” is very engaging, and there is little wonder since the story has been around for more than 100 years. Originally a children’s story from German author Waldemar Bonsels, this bee has her own storybook, comic book series, and plush doll! This movie was wonderfully animated and the voice actors were wonderful. The quality of the animators and actors really made this story buzz off the screen and into our living room.
