Sweetheart Candy Hearts

One month into the New Year already and Valentine’s Day is rapidly approaching! I love all the tasty treats and candies that come along with it too. Valentine’s Day was always a big day when I was growing up! My sisters and I always looked forward to getting a BIG Valentine from our best guy – our Dad! Not only did we get chocolates, but mom would always throw in Sweetheart candy hearts as an added surprise. When I had the opportunity to write a review on the Sweethearts “Color Your Own” Contest, I jumped at the chance. By the way, I received a free case of Sweethearts in an exchange for a review of the product. Please keep in mind the opinions and stories herein are my own. I only recommend services and products that I have personally used and I think will be a good thing for my readers.

NECCO Sweetheart Candy HeartsThe “Color Your Own” Contest by Sweethearts is a fun way for you to pass along this fun sweet to your child and they can have a chance to win fun prizes! My son is so excited that he is taking a box for every single person in his class so they each have an opportunity to participate in the contest for Valentine’s Day too.
For almost 150 years, NECCO Sweethearts Conversation Hearts have been a staple in childhoods everywhere. I really loved them as a child, and today I can have the added fun of sharing them with my own children. Thanks to the “Color Your Own” boxes, we can make crafts and artwork fun and simple! As a young girl, I would often sit back and read all of the phrases on the box of Sweethearts Conversation Hearts. For added fun, I shared these conversation hearts with my four-year old so she can learn new words. She loves learning and eating the candy while she is learning.

About the contest:

  • There are three age groups open in this contest: ages 5 to 7, 8 to 10, and 11 to 12.
  • The child colors the Sweethearts box, and
  • along with the help of their parents, they upload an image to submit to www.necco.com, and once there they will find the submission page.
  • Entries must be submitted by March 1st, 2015. This way, you have enough time to distribute these fun boxes on Valentine’s Day as treats and still be able to enter the contest.

Valentine's Day CandyValentine’s Day is one of my favorites because all the fun candies come out just once a year. With the color your own boxes Sweetheart candies, your kids will have a gift they love, especially when they win great prizes. In the same way my Mom and Dad did for me, I love making Valentine’s Day really special for all of my kids. These fun boxes are a great way to do just that. So break out those markers and set your kids creativity free.
