This post brought to you by Murphy-Goode Winery. All opinions are 100% mine.
Sometimes there comes along a company that not only makes a great product but makes a difference in other people’s lives as well. I had the opportunity to check out Murphy-Goode Wines and their Few Goode Heroes program over the past couple of weeks. And, in case you didn’t see it, I even made my own nomination. So if you have minute, please go check out A Few Goode Heroes Contest and vote for your favorites! (Just an FYI – Tracy Mehr was my nomination ;) )
Murphy-Goode Wines is looking for those people that contribute and make a difference to everyday people. They could be everyday heroes such as soldiers, police, fire, teacher, medical staff or anyone that you know. Whether the person does big or small things, they make a difference and they care. The prizes include four Hero Prize Winners who will win:
One (1) prize of $500, made in the Selected Contestant’s name, will be donated to his or her 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization of choice. A matching donation of $500 will also be donated to Operation Homefront. Murphy-Goode will make a matching donation
The grand prize will be for one lucky winner, a 4th of July barbecue by their Grill Sergeant hosted in the winning nominee’s hometown plus a $1000 donation to Operation Homefront. How fun would that be!
My nomination is for my father, Tracy Mehr. Yes, he’s an awesome Dad but that’s not why. I nominated him for the close to 50 years of service he provided to young people as a teacher and coach. Thousands of young people have passed through the halls where he taught and coached. Hundreds still come back to see him or stay in touch even decades later. He’s the kind of teacher/coach that with one look or a few softly spoken words could help you reach heights you didn’t know you had. If you weren’t reaching for your best (and there’s a difference between the world’s best and your best), he would also let you know in such a way that it was clear it wouldn’t be acceptable moving forward.
Go on! Take a minute to check out and like Murphy-Goode on Facebook and vote for your choice of “everyday heroes”. Voting will take place between May 12th – May 19th. Vote often! (Hint, hint, hint….have I said that my nomination is for Tracy Mehr? )
