Up cycled wine bottle into planter

 What you will need:

  • 1 wine bottle (cleaned with label peeled off)
  • glue gun
  • thin wire but strong enough to hang a water filled bottle
  • contact paper
  • permanent marker
  • ribbon of your choice

Decide what design or quote you want to use.

Click here for some quote ideas from Parent Palace.

Then on a piece of contact paper cut to fit the front of the bottle, write your quote or draw your design. Once dry peel it off and stick it on the wine bottle to assure good contact start from the middle and smooth to the edges.

Next Glue wire around the bottle neck several times and tie a knot at the end. This part is very important as that is what your bottle will be hanging from. If you add water it can get very heavy so be sure to add enough wire. I usually glue the neck then add wire then glue again then circle etc.

Then after you have circled the bottle and tied the knot make a loop out of the end of the wire and circle the bottle again making sure it is secure tie a knot and leave a loop on the end for hanging.

Give it a little time to dry to make sure good contact with the wire. At this point I like to wrap my ribbon around the neck so it covers the wire. Then tie a bow to make it look pretty.

Next you can put your plant inside, fill it with water and hang it on the wall.

I hung mine in the bathroom because bamboo seems to do better there than anywhere else in my house:)I hope you enjoyed this and if you have any questions or try this out please let me know how it turns out!
