Halloween is FAST approaching and we are in full celebration mode!  The weather has turned cooler, our decorations are out, and we are really for the big night.  And around here, it doesn’t even have to be Halloween for there to be MARVEL mania!  My girls loveeeee Marvel, so it was a no-brainer that we would be heading to Walmart on October 2nd to pick up MARVEL’s The Avengers: Age of Ultron on the day it was released!  But while we were there, we had to stop by their costume section – and my youngest was super thrilled to find a Hulk costume that would fit her!  MARVEL heroes are definitely not just for boys around my house!

Is there any movie more perfect for a Halloween watch party than MARVEL’s The Avengers: Age of Ultron??  We certainly don’t think so.  But since we wanted to get MARVEL costumes, we also wanted to make our own MARVEL Halloween treat bags, perfect for the big night!  These are super kid-friendly, and you can pick up everything at Walmart.  To make the Hulk Bag, you’ll want to pick up a green gift bag (we chose a medium sized one as we don’t trick or treat a ton), a Hulk greeting card, purple paint, glue, scissors, a small roll of thin purple duct tape (this is in the craft section), a black marker, and a purple paint pen.

Start by having your child run strips of purple duct tape along the bottom of the gift bag (these will be Hulk’s shorts).  Then, using a black marker, draw in eyes and hair (you can also grab free printables online, but my little artist wanted to draw her own).  We also found that Hulk looked cooler on the bag without eyes and nose.  When you’re done, turn the bag over.  Have your child cut out parts of the greeting card that he or she loves and glue on to the bag.  Katie grabbed the Hulk button and the word “SMASH”.  Then, she added her name in purple paint pen and some purple polka dots! She had a ball, and really feels proud of her Halloween bag that she made by herself – so much more fun than the usual pumpkin!

My husband also got in on the action as well with a Iron Man treat bag (I think he’s hoping that I’ll fill it with chocolate!)  He started with a red bag, and then used cooking prep bowls to draw out Iron Man’s ARC Reactor that is on his chest.  He then used a bright blue metallic paint and a gold paint pen to color it in.  On the back, he stenciled in Property of Stark Industries…super cool!

After we made our treat bags, it was time for a trial run watch party (as if Katie could wait!).  We put together some MARVEL’s The Avengers: Age of Ultron treats and Katie got all costumed up!

Even Hulk was pretty excited about the treats…

But by far, the thing that ALL of us was looking forward to most was watching MARVEL’s The Avengers: Age of Ultron!!!!  I hadn’t seen the movie yet and it was really, really good!!  You’ll want to run out to Walmart to pick up your copy of the DVD or Bluray today!

These are such cute ideas! I never got into doing anything more than the real basics, as I just didn’t have the time. This looks like fun!

when I was little we never bought costumes we always dressed up in gramma’s old house dress and fur or grandpa’s top coat… whatever we could collect right before Halloween and I could remember my mom burning a cork to blacken our face to look like hobo’s… whatever happened to the good old days!

These are great ideas for the kids to celebrate the Adventures for Halloween. I will have to share this with my sister who has young kids. Thanks for sharing the ideas.

What a fun party theme. I always love having a craft anytime we host a party. And those cupcakes are absolutely adorable. I probably would have acted like the Hulk and eaten all of them.

My family loves The Avengers and those trick-or-treat bags are awesome. Every year my grandkids must dress up as a Superhero for Halloween. I’ve got a Hulk this year, too. :)

How cute! My daughter is more into princesses than Avengers at the moment, but I think it’s awesome that little girls are okay with dressing up as something else!

Stephanie, agreed! I think it’s important that kids be allowed and encouraged to express themselves however they want to (as long as it is respectful towards others, of course!)

I do not have young children anymore. They are all young adults now and would probably have their own Halloween parties to attend. I’d just stay home with the hubby and make a nice dinner at home.

What a neat Avengers Party and movie. I will be handing out candy to the neighbor kids and we are having a Halloween party with my family! I will just be putting on some Halloween makeup. I do not know what I will be yet!
