Thank you to Minute Maid® for sponsoring this post and giving me a chance to thank my wife for making moments for our kids, and to encourage other parents to keep doing what they are to support their kids. To them we say, You’re Doin’ Good!

My wife usually writes these posts, but on this one I want to give her a note. There are many people we know who are doing a great job with their kids, but the one parent I know that deserves a bit of encouragement is my wife. So, thank you Minute Maid® for giving me a platform to acknowledge the efforts of a mom that doesn’t do it all perfectly, but does it all nonetheless.

All of us who have the privilege of raising kids that depend on us for everything from shelter and food to love and encouragement know that the demands on our time and resources are nearly constant – and 9-year-olds don’t let us take a day off! So, during this back-to-school season, I want to tell my wife, “Stop worrying about it; You’re doing alright!”

Picnic with the girls 241

She works a ridiculous number of hours, but still makes time for afternoon picnics with the kids. How cool is that? The picnic above was less than a mile from her office. During the craziness of work and back-to-school prep, she took the time to get out of the office and meet up with the girls –we even all played a quick game of wiffle ball together! You’re doing great, honey!

Whether she is taking the time away from work and her own responsibilities outside of the house or incorporating meaningful moments with the girls, they never doubt that she loves them, and I never doubt that I chose the right person to parent alongside. Don’t worry, Mom, you’re doin’ good!

Even on vacation, she gets behind the camera to make sure that the girls’ favorite moments are captured on camera. She is a huge influence and positive force for our girls, whether we are at volleyball practice, horse shows, picnics, or at a theme park. My wife helps make home our happiest place on earth.

Meaningful moments come in all shapes, sizes, and timeframes – thank you on behalf of our girls! Thanks for all you do for all of us during the year – and especially during the back-to-school season. You keep us on track, on schedule, on task, and on your mind. You’re doing a great job!

And to all of the unsung hero moms, dads, grandparents, and other grown-ups who care about kids as if they were their own, Minute Maid® and I want you to know: You’re Doin’ Good! Let’s have a great school year, and let’s start supporting each other whenever we can – a pat on the back, a note of thanks, or even a blog post. Reach out, and let’s all move forward encouraged and together!

Who do you know who is #doingood as a parent? Share their story with us in the comments – we would love to read it! And let us know about a time you knew you were #doingood as a parent, too!

Thanks, Minute Maid® for sponsoring today’s share! You’re Doin’ Good, too!

I question my parenting and choices all the time, I think it’s natural as parents as we just want to be the best and do the best. This is a great campaign and post! Wonderful support.

I wish more moms would hear this message and believe it – we are doing good, and the fact that we’re concerned about it shows how dedicated we are to our families :) Life’s too short for mom guilt!

I just recently had to deal with a teacher bullying my child at school. I was really worried about it, but the principal was wonderful about it. I’m so glad she didn’t immediately take the teacher’s side of things.

I spy Disney World! My mom is definitely #doingood as a parent! As a single mom she was able to raise my sister and I and make sure we BOTH gradated college. She always believed in us and that’s whats helped shape me into the person I am today <3

Great picture of the girls in front of the window. What a beautiful stained glass window that is. Like the Frozen t-shirt as well.
