There was a time not so long ago that the men in our lives weren’t allowed into the labor and delivery room to greet their new arrival. Instead, they were relegated to the waiting room to pace and fret and then to pass out cigars to celebrate the birth of their long-awaited bundle of joy. Then, they went back to work and mom got to change the diapers without any help! Well, some things have definitely changed for the better. Now dads are in there with mom during the labor, delivery, and oftentimes cut the umbilical cords themselves. What it means to be a man and a father has definitely changed!

While I applaud that dads are doing more in the birthing process, and changing diapers on their own, some traditions deserve to endure. We raise a toast at our weddings, blow out candles at our birthdays, and dads would be hard-pressed to find a better way to share the joy of their newborn with their friends, colleagues, and random strangers they can get corner long enough to show pics of the baby! There is no more time-honored way to share the joy than handing out tasty cigars.

You can create an awesome baby shower gift for dad – after all, lots of baby showers are are both Mom AND Dad these days.  Check out this cute and easy gift just for dad! Start with a tackle box (which is way more manly than a pink ruffled bag!), and Havana Honeys so that dad can celebrate his new bundle!  Havana Honeys come in four great flavors to help your celebration get off on the right foot. Spiced Rum, Classic Cognac, Sweet Honey, and Original all come in 2-packs so you get the perfect amount for your celebration. Since they are available all over the place. there is a pretty good shot that you aren’t far from a store that carries them right now. If you are too far to grab some at your local store, you can even order them online.  And even if you don’t smoke, it’s fun to respect this tradition!

My father’s birthday comes soon, so I’d like to give as a gift of cigars. This article is very helpful because I know nothing about cigars. I like especially the idea of combining cigars of different tastes in one cigar box. Now I’m sure I will be able to make his birthday more pleasant with this present.

Believe it or not, my husband received a few cigars when our children were born and never touched them. He has some that are over 10 years old.

Ha ha! I love the way you wrote this up. I have to say I’m glad times have changed and dads are more involved. It was always a joke in our family that if our kids were born during football season, that it better not be on a sunday, or monday night or thursday evening because I’d be pushing alone! Of course I knew my husband was going to be there even if he was keeping track of the score on the smartphone. This delux dad diaper box is cute and funny! I love it!

I love the idea of a Dad’s Diaper Bag! Baby Showers are often for both Mom and Dad now and this is a cute way to make Dad feel included! I love the cigars and also the face mask for those treacherous diaper changes! lol

I never saw my husband smoke a cigar, but I remember when my daughter was born, all of a sudden he was passing them out to his buddies. IT is definitely a tradition. I like the idea of a dad’s diaper bag.
