My car is a 2008 Ford Escape. I love my car. But my car is getting on up there in car years – it has 140,000 miles on it, which isn’t surprising since I spend over two hours a day in my car commuting. And because I depend on my car to carry me so many miles every, it’s extra-important that I keep it in tip-top shape. Plus, this summer, we will be heading ALL over Western NY for summer “staycations” so we will be putting even more miles on my Ford. If you’ve ever been to Western NY, you know we have TONS of options for staycations, but here are a few of my favorites we will be hitting this year!
Walmart provides great service with their Pennzoil oil changes. Plus, they have Department Managers that service just the Automotive Care Centers, so you know you’re going to get a little extra service with your oil change!
Pennzoil oil changes helps me keep my high mileage car running smoothly – all of their oils help clean out sludge that lesser oils leave behind. But they even have a special oil change for high mileage vehicles that helps to reduce leaks and oil consumption in cars with a little more road under their tires. It’s recommended for cars over 75,000, and I use it to help keep my engine running clean, because I’m not ready to give up my Escape for quite some time!
My car is also going to be put to the test on a cross-country road trip this summer, and we are CONSTANTLY on the go to horse shows in the summer season!
Not only is he a big guy, our horse Zeus has A LOT of gear. Between saddles, tack, clothes, boots, trunks and even the odd bale of of hay or bag of shavings, my Escape has to be 100% on point on horse show weekends! Breaking down can mean the difference between getting to the show safely and on time! That’s why it’s so important for me to have a smooth running car all summer long! This is one reason why I rely on Pennzoil to keep us going!
Pennzoil stands behind their product – they have a free warranty that covers 15 engine parts that may fail due to engine wear or which experience abnormal friction wear. Check out the Pennzoil Warranty Site for all the details.
If there’s anything I hate more than wasted time, I don’t know what it is. As a crazy, crazy busy mom (like every other parent in the world, right?), I HATE wasting 45 minutes or longer in an automotive waiting area getting nothing done while my oil is being changed. This is why I LOVE getting my oil changed at Walmart. When you get your oil changed at Walmart, you can multitask – make your car happy AND get errands done! We had a great experience at Walmart when we took my car in to get its oil changed. There was no wait, and very friendly young man got us all set up and said we had about 45 minutes – so we had some fun! First, we checked out the sporting goods section to try out a new baseball glove for my youngest daughter…
And we HAD to stop by the craft section for my oldest daughter…
And we even had time to have a little silly summer fun and grab some groceries!
But even with the convenience(and fun!) of being able to shop while I get my oil changed, I also have to know that my car is being taken well care of, and Walmart takes care of that too!
If you need your oil changed, now is a great time to head to Walmart. From now until September 9th, Pennzoil oil changes will be on Rollback at Walmart, with my high mileage oil change on sale at $35.88 rolled back from the regular price of $39.88 and way lower than the industry standard price of $46. Their other Pennzoil oil changes are on Rollback too, so you can choose the oil change that is best suited for your vehicle! And here’s anther cool tip – did you know you can find out if your car is ready even if you miss an announcement? Just find a price scanner and scan the tag they give you at the beginning – my car was done right on time!
