It’s been a long, long cold winter here in Western New York, and we could not be MORE excited to have weather in the 60s and 70s, and even rain instead of snow! It’s official – spring has sprung, and for us, that’s a HUGE reason to celebrate!
So this weekend we are doing a dual celebration of both Spring and Mother’s Day, but at the same time, we don’t want to break the budget! Springtime here means it’s time to plan flowers, so I put together a fun activity for my two girls to celebrate the arrival of spring! And since I live right up the road from Dollar General, I popped in to see what I could pick up for our spring celebration.
I hit the jackpot! I found ADORABLE pre-painted terra cotta pots and an ABUNDANCE of seeds to choose from, so I thought I would make that the center of our celebration! And I saved big time – I got four seed packets and both pots for only $5 – it would cost much more at my local greenhouse.
I also grabbed stickers and huge sidewalk chalk to decorate the pots for my girls so they are all ready to plant! This is SUCH an easy craft – the stickers stick right to the pot and the chalk writes easily on the pot as well. And bonus – the sidewalk chalk gives them something to play with outside in our warmer spring weather! There was even leftover stickers so they can decorate their own drinking cups! I used one drinking cup to put some pretty silk flowers in to liven up the table – and the tablecloth – ALSO from Dollar General! I even picked up bubbles for the girls to play with!
The best part = the price and the fact that I was able to get everything at Dollar General. The grand total for my Spring has Sprung party? You won’t believe it – only $25.80! So next time you are planning a party, try Dollar General for a great deal on party supplies! And don’t forget you can Save on summer essentials with Dollar General!
