This How to Organize Kitchen Cabinets post is inspired by the Chef’s Edition SpiceStack I received for review purposes from YouCopia.
Are your kitchen cabinets a disaster? Organizing your cabinets helps cooking and living run smoother in your home. Check out these tips to help get your kitchen cabinets a little more organized:
#1 Get rid of unneeded items
Many of our kitchens are stocked with items we don’t need or use. To get the most out of your kitchen cabinet space, you really need to disregard anything you’re not using. Get rid of items that are outdated and just taking up space. If you can donate it, great, but you might find yourself throwing out a lot of outdated items.
#2 Use creativity to organize
It’s hard to use some organization tutorials for your kitchen because yours looks nothing like those pictures. When it comes to organizing your kitchen cabinets, you really have to use your ultimate creativity level. Think of spots that pans, plates, and cups can go that you’ve never really thought about before. You can attach organizational racks inside your cabinet doors. You can also use your oven to store pizza pans (just make sure you take them out before you cook). Use the bottom of your sink for dish storage instead of cleaning supplies.
#3 Hang things from the wall
We may not be fancy organizers and decorators, but if there is one thing we know how to do—it is hang things from walls. If you have the wall space, utilize it. Hang up pans, coffee cups, or spoons to give you more cabinet space. Ensure the items are within reach because you don’t want to make cooking in the kitchen an inconvenience.
#4 Think outside the box
Use dividers to help you make organization a little easier in the kitchen. Silverware can be divided up using dividers. If you want to get really creative you can also use a labeler to label items. This will also help your family put things where they belong. Making sure the whole family is involved is a great way to keep a kitchen more organized.
#5 Keep Your Spices Together
The worst thing about my cabinets before I got them organized was the amount of spices I had, well, everywhere. I do a lot of cooking and experimenting so I keep herbs and spices in stock. The problem was finding them…that was nearly impossible without taking everything out of the cabinets. Now I have easy access to my spices and the cabinets are organized – double win!
What helped me to get my cabinets organized was the Chef’s Edition SpiceStack from YouCopia. It has 3 pull out drawers that hold up to 20 spice bottles each. (20 if they’re the small ones, 10 if they’re the big ones – or mix and match like I do.) The SpiceStack fits perfectly in my cabinet so that it’s not cluttering my countertops. It also does something super special. Instead of the drawers just pulling out, they fold down so I don’t have to stand on my tippy toes to see what’s what.
The Chef’s Edition SpiceStack has definitely made a drastic improvement in my cabinet organization. It can just as easily sit on a counter or shelf as it can a cabinet. It’s well made and not at all flimsy so it will hold up through regular use. The amount of cabinet space I freed up, not to mention the time I save hunting down spices is amazing. If you don’t already have a Chef’s Edition SpiceStack from YouCopia you definitely should – check out the YouCopia website for more great items too.

#6 Keep up with it
One of the main reasons kitchens get disorganized is because overtime we just get lazy. Your kitchen will stay organized if you make the effort to do so. All of the time you have just spent organizing your kitchen will be well worth it if you can maintain what you’ve just organized.
