Staying Stylish and Warm – A Guide to Winter Fashion

When it comes to winter fashion most women think they have two choices; stay warm and look bad or dress well and stay cold. Is winter really that cut and dry when it comes to fashion though? What if we could dress for the weather and still look really cute? In this article we will highlight some great ways to have it both ways this winter and how you will be able to leave everyone around you in awe.

A normal pair of shoes really does not work during winter, unless you are okay with destroying them and being cold! Instead, look into boots. When we say boots, do not think back to your days in elementary school where your parents bought you Eskimo style boots that were made for you to be able to play in deep snow! Boots can be really adorable; you just need to know where to start. Two great styles of boots a lot of women like to have are either sheep skin boots (normally sold under brand names like Uggs) or long leather boots.  In either case both are made to keep you warm and look great during the winter time!  You can get different assortments and colors of both styles. If you plan on buying a pair of either style, make sure your shoe closet has room because you surely will be hooked and buying more after your first pair!

These boots do seem to have a wide calf. They fit a little loose on me and I have large calves. They’re perfect for tucking in pants, though.

When we think of winter we think of jackets. A great winter jacket that can keep us warm might be associated with being really big and bulky due to insulation. This stereotype of a warm winter jacket is totally wrong!

Yes, the more bulky the more it might be able to keep you warm, but material matters! A great alternative to those bulky jackets are complete wool jackets and pea coats! Wool is definitely something that is a great insulator even in smaller quantities. Lots of designers love working with wool because of its easy ability to go through alterations. Some great brands to look for are Burberry, Louis Vuitton, Versace, and Chanel. Pricing may be a bit more expensive but these products are cute, warm, and extremely durable (if cared for properly)!

Scarves are a great way to add depth to your attire and keep you warm. Made from different materials, fabrics, and available in multiple arrays of color and style, you can find something really cute if you take time out and look. Since a scarf is more of a secondary piece of clothing, think about not going overboard on purchasing.

Sure a really soft cashmere scarf from Burberry might be a nice luxury, but it will surely cost you. You can get some good looking bargains from big box retailers.  Look for plaid styles as those have been made popular by brands like Burberry!

Overall we see that we can keep warm and look stylish too. We just need to look hard. From wool jackets, different styles of boots, to scarves, we see that if you put in some effort and a bit of cash you can have the best of both worlds! Always remember that in the end you should pick what you like, but the items described in more detail above are a few things that a lot of ladies agree on looking great and keeping them warm!
