DennyMike’s BBQ

7 Flares 7 Flares ×

We live in the South and we LOVE BBQ.  Pulled pork, chicken, beef, shrimp, veggie kabobs. You name and we will BBQ it!  So it is no surprise that I was more than willing to review a chicken rub and BBQ sauce.

In fact, I got the package today and I made it for dinner tonight!!
I grilled zucchini and onions with DennyMike’s chicken rub and a little olive oil. Then I cooked chicken and added DennyMike’s Sweet N Spicy BBQ sauce.  It was delicious.  We have a large family and more than half of the children really liked the rub and the sauce.  In fact, even my two-year old asked for more!  The sauce has a sweet side – pineapple is among the ingredients.

The sauce also has a spicy side – jalapeno peppers are listed but it is not hot spicy. I do not like the taste of hot peppers nor do I like for my mouth to hurt after eating.

That is not the case with DennyMike’s.

I would venture to say that the spicy part is referring to the strong flavor.  Out of the seven children who can eat adult food, five of them choose DennyMike’s.  The other two are far less adventurous and tend to prefer bland foods.  My husband loves spicy and thoroughly enjoyed it.  He described it as mild which is perfect for our family.  Maybe I should get a bottle of DennyMike’s Hot N Nasty!
So go to DennyMike’s site for a delicious holiday gift – so affordable and packaged nicely it is great for teachers and neighbors too!  You can also check them out on Facebook and Twitter!  Also browse their site to find out about the products, catering and some delicious recipes.

    Hi Mindy,

Just wanted to reach out and say thanks a bunch for the nice review you posted; it’s very gratifying to know that my products can pass the ‘taste test’. I actually do rather well with kids, which I’m sure is due to the good sugars I use, I’m sure, but it’s as wholesome as I can make it so I don’t view it as a bad thing. And as an FYI, the spice in my Sweet ‘n Spicy actually comes from baking spices such as nutmeg, allspice and mace, although I couldn’t help but use a little cayenne just because. And your husband should be pleased to know that he’ll have a chance to try my Hot ‘n
Nasty, as a small token of my appreciation for your support. He’ll probably get a kick out of my description when answering the question, “Is that stuff really hot?” I tell ‘em it’s hot enough to get your attention, but like a good guest, it knows when to leave! Thanks again!

    DennyMike
