Stuffed Cube Steak

Have you ever had one of those days where dinner is still frozen and you rummage to find something else to prepare? I had that day today. Luckily, I had a quick thawing meat in the freezer, cube steak.

John doesn’t like cube steak at all. He gets mad every time I buy it; but it’s cheap and easy and comes in handy when I have days like today. I wanted to jazz it up a bit so that he would eat it so I rummaged through the fridge. As soon as I opened the door I saw the one thing that would make John at least try my creation: bacon. And then I looked in my cabinets to see what else I could use and I saw a box of Stove Top. Bada Bing, Bada Boom! I had the perfect idea for dinner.

The first thing I did was make the Stove Top. That took all of 10 minutes. That’s the main reason I keep Stove Top on hand, it is done in no time.

Next, I pounded out the cube steaks to get them as flat and thin as possible, then I spread each with a layer of stuffing. I rolled up the stuffing covered cube steak like I was rolling a tortilla. Stuffed Cube Steak

Then I wrapped each with the magic ingredient, bacon, and secured them with toothpicks. Finally I placed each one into my oven ready skillet and put that in my preheated (450°) oven for 25 minutes.

I opened the oven and oh my goodness, it smelled amazing. The bacon and stuffing made the house smell like Thanksgiving – yummy! Serving the stuffed cube steaks with broccoli made it a complete meal that was ready in about 40 minutes.
