When you first meet someone and become smitten everything else is just an afterthought. You fall in love with their personality, their eyes and the way your name rolls off of their lips. It’s not until years later you realize they’re a fashion disaster and they really, really need a makeover. That’s how it happened with John and I, and I’ve finally taken my thoughts and put them into action!
Don’t get me wrong, I love him. My qualms with his fashion in no way affect that. But when you’ve spent the past 7 years with someone and they’re still wearing the same clothes and underwear they were wearing before you got together – well, you could have some issues with that. John’s wardrobe hasn’t changed much since we were in high school; 14 years ago. He’s long overdue for some Men’s Fashion advice, and who better to give that to him than me?!

He’s had this shirt since Freshman year (of high school) which was 18 years ago. Who keeps clothes that long? Well, besides him.

I’m not sure how old these underwear are, and neither is he – but I do know they’re at least 7 years old. The elastic is gone – as is most of the waistband, the color is faded beyond recognition and this is just 1 of the many pair like this in his underwear drawer. I don’t believe for a second they’re comfortable, but he still wears them. I’d say a wardrobe update is long overdue. Starting with the drawers!

I’m thinking of burning these!
His underwear intervention began the day we received a 3 pack of MaLo Underwear – which is Mario Lopez’s line. You may know him better as Slater, from Saved by the Bell (you know you drooled over him too!) Mario Lopez is the epitome of manliness, so it’s only fitting that his underwear would be designed to enhance and flaunt masculinity.
These were just John’s style, boxer briefs, so I wasn’t expecting too much trouble from him. He wasn’t overly thrilled when he first put on the underwear. He’s used to wearing boxer briefs that come down to his mid-thigh, and these were much shorter. I talked him into giving them a chance and wearing them for a day to see how the felt and compared to his old, ragged underwear.
A few days went by and I didn’t think much of it. I figured he had given up on them since he hadn’t mentioned the MaLo Underwear. Then one day when he was changing after work I noticed he was wearing them! All on his own. I had to comment.
“Nice underwear!”

He told me he actually liked them a lot now, they were comfortable and supportive, and he could barely tell he was wearing them. I asked him about the length, and how he was adjusting to that and he showed me that they don’t ride up. They stay in place, without being overly tight, so it’s not an issue at all. Score!
I’m super excited to see him in new underwear. Not only that, but this is underwear that flatters him. We, as women, are always looking for clothes and under garments that flatter, trim or flatten but guys don’t seem to go out of their way for that. I love that the MaLo Underwear line includes that, but doesn’t advertise it. It allows a man to maintain his masculinity while being ahead of the game in Men’s Fashion.
We’ll definitely be adding more MaLo Underwear to his drawers, and saying goodbye to the old.

That last picture is fantastic! MaLo underwear is a winner is our household too. Michael hates how much he likes them. :)
Those look and sound great. I’ll have to check them out for my husband.
Definitely check them out, John swears by them.
These look so nice! I will have to check them out for hubby!!!
He swears they’re the most comfy underwear he’s worn. I think the hubs would appreciate them ;)
My husband totally needs these!
I think every man needs these!
New underwear is on hubby’s christmas list this year (even if he doesn’t know it!) they are starting to show their age :/
I think that’s a great present!
Ummmm…yummy last photo! That’s ad worthy!
It’s so funny how long some guys will hold onto clothing!
Thanks! I was so happy to actually get the picture in my head to turn out the way I wanted it!
Mike tried these out too – and loved ‘em. SOOO much better than those ratty old ones he was wearing before, lol.
I can imagine, I hate ratty clothes, especially underwear. It makes me wonder what the point of wearing them at all is.
SEXY = MALO underwear!!! Good job :) BTW Malo in Spanish is Bad LOL!
That’s the first thing John said when he saw the package! He’s like “why would I wear underwear that says it’s bad?”
We love Malo underwear too. It looks good and comes in some cool colors. BTW, my husband keeps clothes that long too. Must be a guy thing.
He wants to try out some of the other styles to see if they’re as awesome as the boxer briefs. I’m glad he’s not the only man that hordes his high school clothes!
WE LOVE MALO UNDERWEAR!!
They’re definitely great!
