As a dad who is constantly on-the-go, you have probably found that it can be challenging to keep your clean-shaven appearance while traveling. Different types of travel pose different challenges: Camping or RVing may prevent access to water and other shaving necessities, while business travel requires staying in hotels that may not have all the amenities of home and long flights. Plus, they have the added challenge of requiring you to consistently look presentable.

One option is simply to let your beard grow, but many men find that a new beard does not grow in evenly and gives them an unkempt appearance. Plus, not shaving for a while can lead to the development of ingrown hairs the next time you shave. Shaving every day is a good way to prevent ingrown hairs and keep your skin in good shape.
The best way to continue your shaving routine while traveling is to create a travel kit that has all your amenities as well as some contingency items. When building your kit, make sure to include the following products:
1. Disposable razor
Today’s disposable razors are no longer the flimsy blades you might remember. They come in multi-blade designs and can do everything that your home razor can. Pack several razors if you are going to be gone for a number of days.
2. Electric razor
While an electric razor may not give you the same close shave as a blade, this is a necessity if you are going to be driving or flying for an extended period of time. This is especially important if you are going to need to shave while on a plane. If your travel kit contains razor blades, you will have to pack it in your luggage, but you will be able to keep a kit with an electric razor with you as carry-on.
3. Shave cream or lubricant

This is another area where you need to consider your travel plans ahead of time. Because of liquid restrictions on aircraft, you will not be able to pack your standard can of shave cream. You can pack a travel-size package of your favorite brand, but it may not last you for your whole trip. One option that some companies are offering is shaving oil. It’s more compact than shave cream, and you only need a small amount to shave your entire face. The lubrication provided helps to moisturize your skin and prevent ingrown hairs.
