Our cat, Lucy, is a part of our family. We’ve had her forever and she’s almost like a people. If I could just potty train her she would be one of us, but she isn’t having any part of it. Lucy is a very spoiled and bratty cat. She’s a bit prissy too (not to mention smart.) I absolutely love her! Lucy is her own cat, she has a mind of her own and does what she wants. She loves climbing walls and having her belly rubbed. When she wants something she tells you and if you don’t get to it fast enough she’ll come get you.

Lucy’s litter box is in the bathroom and we clean it every other day. If we miss a cleaning she’ll remind us by putting a towel or washcloth in there (or if she can’t get to those she’ll drag toilet paper in there.) No joke – I told you she’s smart and prissy. She can’t stand to get her feet dirty so standing in a dirty litter box isn’t happening. She actually stands on the edge of the litter box to use the bathroom, gripping the wall to keep from having to expose her paws to the *gasp* litter.

We’ve tried so many different brands of litter all with mixed results. The latest we’ve tried is the Arm & Hammer Ultra Last Clumping litter which we learned about just in the nick of time! See, Lucy had babies last week, 4 of them to be exact. They are so cute and tiny right now but I know it’s only a matter of time before they turn into little divas (divos?) Lucy is being a great momma and taking excellent care of her babies (she drug them under my bed and I haven’t seen them lately, but I sure do hear them.) While she’s doing a great job cleaning up after them right now, I know it’s only a matter of time before I have 5 cats to clean up after instead of just my Lucy.

Normally I know it’s time to clean it when the urine odor becomes noticeable. With the cheaper brands of cat litter that has been as soon as the first use. I am going to be cleaning it today for health/sanitary reasons but am overly impressed with the quality of this cat litter.

I don’t have to scoop every day, I don’t have to worry about Lucy ruining our towels and washcloths or wasting toilet paper. I can actually walk into my bathroom without holding my breath. This is by far the best cat litter I’ve tried and I can’t imagine using anything else – ever! The real test will come in a couple weeks when the new kitties are using the litter box.
